Teachable overhauled its pricing in early 2026. If you have read a Teachable review from 2024 or 2025, the plan names, prices, and fees are completely different. Here is what changed:

Annual billing saves 22–26% depending on the plan. The 7-day free trial requires a credit card – a step back from the previous 14-day no-card trial. The 30-day money-back guarantee covers annual billing if you decide after the trial it is not the right platform.

Starter vs Builder: The Break-Even Calculation

The most important number in Teachable’s pricing: the break-even point between Starter and Builder. On annual billing, Builder costs $40/month more than Starter. With Starter’s 7.5% transaction fee, you break even when:

$40 ÷ 0.075 = $533/month in course revenue

Above $533/month in monthly course sales, Builder pays for itself entirely through saved transaction fees. If you are already earning consistently above that threshold, go straight to Builder and never look at Starter.

Watch out: Communities, memberships, and bundles do NOT count toward your published product limit on any plan. Only courses, coaching products, and digital downloads count. So if you sell a course + a community, you only use one product slot.

What Teachable Does Well

• Course player experience – structured lesson navigation, progress tracking, completion certificates on every plan. Students get a proper learning environment, not just a file download.
• Built-in student app – Teachable has a dedicated iOS and Android app. Students can complete courses on mobile without any extra work on your end.
• Payment processing – Teachable handles Stripe and PayPal integration, global VAT/sales tax as Merchant of Record, and currency conversion.
• Course creation tools – video hosting (unlimited on all plans), quiz builder, drip content scheduling, and an AI course creation tool included.
